My days no longer start at 5:30am with a shower, a leisure breakfast catching up on my shows, doing my hair, putting on makeup, and heading to work...
They go a little like this: around 2am babies start to stir, we (my hubby is a great help :)) wake up change diapers, I feed babies for about 20 minutes, we burp and hold babies up for another 15-20 minutes because they have reflux, wrap them back up and crawl into bed. Then around 5am I do it all over again, and hubby goes to work. This time instead of going back to bed I take this two hour gap to get ready if I can. I eat, watch some tv, shower and do my best to get dressed and ready for the day before they wake up, because I know the next time they are up for a feeding they won't go back to sleep until after the following feeding.
Why do I even take the time to get ready if I know I'll be spending my ENTIRE day inside? Doing my hair and putting on makeup helps me feel human somewhat. I want to not look sloppy when my hubby gets home from work. Even though I know I won't be leaving the house it just helps me feel like "me". My house feels like a mess, so if I can at least take care of me in the morning I feel like I accomplished something.
Being a Stay at Home Mom is no joke. I'm constantly reminded if the things I need to do around the house because I stare at them all day, but I'm exhausted when I do have the chance to get to them. I know that this stage won't last forever, my boys are only 10 weeks old. I do enjoy every moment I have with them, these are precious times that are fleeting. Babies grow and change all too quickly.
That's it for now, until next time... I'll be baby wrangling (as my hubby puts it).

Hello delicious!
I had to post this because I am so proud! I made strawberry protein pancakes...ah-mazing! I took the recipe from my sister so I can't take credit for being creative but I can can credit for how yummy they were! Yes it was my second breakfast...2500 calories a day remember??? Ha! Yes I added a little syrup and powdered sugar...just a little! They actually were sweet enough on their own I probably didn't need the powdered sugar. The syrup I added to give a little moisture. These amazing pancakes have the texture of a crêpe and I love crêpes! I think I found my go to breakfast!
1/2 cup oat flour
(you get this by putting oatmeal in the food processor)
4 or 5 large strawberries
1 scoop protein powder
1 egg
1 egg white
And a dash of cinnamon
Then cook on a pan like you would a regular pancake. Yum yum!

My food struggles and nursing...twins!
Here is my struggle. I'm nursing my twins...do you know how many calories I've been told by my doctors to consume? About 2,500-3,000. What?! That a lot of calories! Here is my dilemma: I need to eat that many calories, however I'm lucky enough to get breakfast in the morning if I stay up after their 4:30am feeding. This leads to me being tired through out the day...but I got my breakfast right? My other issue is that between feedings (every 3 hours), I have to choose between a few things; catching up on sleep, getting thing done around the house, taking care of myself (shower, hair, makeup etc) or eating...I usually try to sleep because let's face it, I'm a new mom and I'm exhausted! These little guys sure take it out of you!
When I do get a chance to eat it's usually rushed and I'm reaching for whatever is easy. I've seen the weight literally melt off of me. I'm 10 weeks postpartum and I've lost all of the pregnancy weight plus 10 pounds (and I was worried I would have a hard time getting back into my regular clothes)! As wonderful as this weight loss has been, I know that I need to make better healthier choices because the second I stop breastfeeding, if I keep up these habits I'll gain the weight back, plus some I'm sure.
So my struggle is how do I keep up my calorie intake so I can continue to produce enough milk for my boys, but eating healthy calories at the same time, when I don't feel I have the time to prep anything healthy? Oy. I'm in no means trying to "diet" while I'm breastfeeding, I'm just really trying to make a change to my eating habits a change that will stick. I know when I get on a good track of eating healthy, I'll crave healthy foods...it's the starting part that's hard. I have to retrain my body.
Okay off to make some protein strawberry pancakes while I have a moment! Sorry if there are typos...I'm in a rush!
